She adopted her stage name “Ledoyen” from her maternal grandmother’s maiden name. Her grandmother was also a stage actress.
Virginie was just 2 years old when she began appearing in commercials for television.
She made her debut feature film appearance as Berta in What Every Frenchwoman Wants in 1986. She was just 10 years old at the time.
